Shot on Arri Alexa Mini w/ Arri Ultra Primes

Shot under the mentorship of Amy Vincent, ASC (Eve's Bayou, Song Sung Blue), Old Literature was an exercise in finding beauty through unconventional means. We deliberately broke from standard cinematography playbook: deep depth of field where shallow would be expected, near-side key lighting pushed into stylistic territory, etc. This create something painterly without leaning on the usual tricks that make images feel "cinematic." I recorded in ARRIRAW Open Gate specifically to preserve maximum latitude for the grade, where I could sculpt the final image with the same intentionality we brought to set. The result is a film where the photography and the color work are inseparable- every decision on the day was made with the finishing room in mind.
