Jay Pennathur is a photographer and cinematographer based in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised in San Jose, he has honed his craft over the past four years, lighting and capturing a diverse range of narrative projects.

Primarily working in narrative/documentary film and food content, Jay’s expertise encompasses various capture formats, including 35mm, S16 and Digital, and a wide array of lenses and equipment. He collaborates closely with passionate directors and brands to bring their creative visions to life on screen.

In addition to his on-set work, Jay possesses over a year of experience working in the rental industry, currently working part-time at Arri Rental’s Burbank location. Jay also has work experience as a freelance colorist. His proficiency in DaVinci Resolve enables him to assist directors and Directors of Photography in realizing their post-production visions.
