About JAY:
Jay is an Indian-American documentary filmmaker born in San Jose and based in New York, with a focus on telling intimate, people-first stories that exist within larger political contexts. Before this, he spent years lighting and capturing on 35mm, Super 16, and high-end digital systems, and spent time working in LA’s high pressure camera rental business. He is also a screenwriter who's placed in the top 20% of the Academy’s Nicholl Fellowship, and has trained his visual instincts under cinematographer Amy Vincent, ASC.
Right now he’s color grading branded work and preparing for his next big doc project.
