Sergio O'Cadiz painted murals across Southern California that told the stories of the communities they belonged to. Decades later, those murals are disappearing: painted over, weathered, forgotten. But as the film works to preserve what remains of his art, a more complicated portrait emerges through the people who knew him. Family members remember different versions of the same man, whether thats a loving father, an absent father, brilliant artist, a stranger, hero, myth. The film becomes less about saving the murals and more about what any of us leave behind, and how the people closest to us can live with the same person and remember someone entirely different.
